It’s occurred to me that something that could produce a different letter every time you clicked might be neat – a kind of random-rant generator. There’s actually quite a wealth of
already – just from our own members.
If we could put these in a database it wouldn’t be too difficult to deal them out at random. If we had enough of these we could even give people a choice of tone: sarcastic, desperate, angry, threatening etc. Maybe a choice of subjects too: repossessions, bail-outs, small business issues, decline in manufacturing or whatever. Here’s a start: http://www.lobbygroup.org/RRG/
Add your comments/complaints/opinions/ to this post and let’s build up a stock of awkward questions.
To make the programming easier for me, please phrase them such as they would follow on from:
The question I would like to ask is . . . .
What annoys me is . . . .
I feel that . . . .
The printing money question – don’t say you were never warned about it!
Here’s an entertaining generic example …. Scott Pakin’s automatic complaint-letter generator for those who don’t want to wait for our own version.
and here’s a ready-made one

Hi its Alex.
My best exocet of financial mass destruction when
all polite methods have failed is to start faxing
a draft copy of a completed winding up petition.
ITS AMAZING WHAT CRAWLS FROM UNDER A STONE THEN!

Could I send one to the treasury on the grounds that they won’t be able to pay their bills? Eg: my old age pension?

Could we ask for justification for sponsorship of sports event by owned/ part owned companies.
I saw the CBI suggested the creation of a website for ‘posts’ a recovery.org like in the State.
I suppose we could also ask for links to all public account committee minutes, try and see all audit reports for banks over the last few years, could we try and push for disclosure of documents, as we are all shareholder we could try and ask for an extraordinary AGM

Kooltidings,
I agree with the sentiment but not the target, I think sport is a good thing to invest in generally. Before competitive sport of all kinds for those young and full of energy and hormones we tended to kill each other instead..
John,
I have not been around for a while, reality has been inttruding on my time again. The company I work for announced 1/2 year results today, swiftly follwed by a 35% drop in share price and notification of compulsory attendance for all staff at a meeting on Friday…I have noticed you have been busy upgrading a tweeking the facilities we share. I have still not heard anything from Wharfgirl.

What annoys me is…
Complaining middle class know alls who are in a position to actually do something but are content to winge from the sidelines about the current situation.
The questions I would like answered via public enquiry presided over by a jury are:
The Dr David Kelly affair
The Iraq war (minutes of cabinet meeting on the legality in particular)..Information currently supressed by the labour government.
Why lloyds TSB took on HBOS?
Tessa Jowels knowledge of her husbands financial affairs.
Cash for Honours
Cash for questions
Cash for law changes
Cigarette sponsorship for Formula 1 racing..the ban that never was following a visit to no. 10 and a heft donation to labour by Bernie Ecclestone.
SIR john Crosby’s appointment to the FSA.
Tony Blairs pronmise to the nation to see out a full term
Britains part in sanctioning torture(information currently supressed by the labour government).
Detension without trial.
The police raid on the offices of an opposition MP in the houses of Parliament for disclosing information that should never have been repressed in the first place…on the last day SIR Ian Blair was in charge…
Selling the countries Gold at rock bottom prices.
Every knighthood issued under labours rule..all those found wanting to be stripped of them.
Gordon browns ‘election that never was’ and his announcement of troop withdrawels.
The REAL unemployment rate, taking into account short time working and salary cuts as amore accurate measure of general utilisation and renumeration and those claiming invalidity allowance for depression or back ache.
The staffing and renumeration of the FSA for the last 10 years.
Alaister Campbells influence over the BBC.
That is a start, I am sure Rahere can elaborate / fill in any gaps with much more detail than I can.

Sponsoring sport is in good idea yes but in the current situation does appear ‘ill-thought’ may be
Information we need to be made aware of in that public enquiry of yours
Details of all the toxic assets so they can be categorised into what can may be reimbursed and what will need to be written off
Details all FSA meetings minutes and ‘proof’ they were not able to do their job as briefed
Details of all auditors reports over the last few years for the large banks
Role of the BBC in this needs investigating, (Alastair Campbell or not)
On the topic of ‘rebuilding/fixing’ this
- do we implement a new rebuilding programme à la ‘New Deal’ moving forward on the agenda all green issue/renewble energy jobs etc
- look at equitable sharing of earth resources
- really working together on dealing with the climate issue, we know how to be de-salination plant, do not use this as a black mailing tool starts to get building
- fair distribution of medicine and health care
- our approach to Africa and Third World debt. The topic of loan to those countries is going to be raised at the G20 summit I believe
As a little start
