I think we have to really challenge everything and the taboos that have developed since world war 2. I dont see them as forced labour camps but i can see how someone could try to portray them as that but ask yourself this.

What is worse a humane ''forced labour camp'' or sink estates containing mostly people on long term benefits and / or training for jobs that dont exist and never will now, placated by benefits just generous enough for them to have sky plus TV an internet connection and be able to afford a crate of tescos own brand strong lager a week, providing that is they skimp on the family food budget a bit and only feed the kids turky twizzlers and baked beans and frozen sausages.

Which is more cruel and disprespectful?

Jericoa,

I suspect that the kibbutz style idea might be a bit of a hard sell. It would be easy to pull this proposal apart as a kind of forced labour camp.

In case anyone wonders where I am i am off on holiday for 10 days or so, I may occasionaly log on but probably not until around 5th sept.

The weather is too nice and the world too amazing to be worried about crappy politicians, shysters and spivs of all kinds at the moment.

i suppose they they do not get punnished for their greed they get punished by thier greed. I only have an issue when they start messing up everyone elses chances of having a good innings.

Crikey Rob, thanks for this, I am trying to get to the heart of some core, easy to communicate issues that if implemented could get society back on track and would form a core basis for a political party to be elected on.

From first read a lot of what you say resonates with what is in the condensed manifesto, I will try to digest and amend existing points / possibly include some others and up rev to v 1.0 taking into account your post.

Feel free to comment further once I have done so, I am trying to lead the debate thus far towards a consensus among unleveraged free thinkers of all backgrounds then unleash it upon the broader media and political parties!

We can try at least !

My sixpence in a nutshell

1. Constitution

Open representative government for fixed term with the ability for electorate recall

2. Energy and Environment

Conservation and efficiency, insulation for all, new building regs/rented accomodation to be at leading edge

3. Employment, Educ and SS,

Put pressure on employers to reduce the working week to 35 hrs to soak up employable unemployed

Education should be free for all

SS. there are some people out there who are just unemployable in the traditional sense, it would be inhuman (and stupid) to just cast them adrift considering the GDP of this country. I'm pretty sure that most of them could contribute something to society if we just gave them the chance.

Finance and Business.

All individuals have a personal tax allowance
All income from whatever source in the current year (including any benefits in kind) over the PA pays 20% in the current tax year. Companies are treated as individuals and pay tax accordingly.
No offsetting.
Inheritance tax abolished
CGT abolished
Corporate tax abolished
All tax information made public

Law and Law Enforcement

Starting with 'a' a comprehensive review of UK law, filing the laws into 4 boxes (subject to democratic review)

1. Laws no longer applicable - to be repealed
2. Laws with some relevance but mostly superceded by later laws/amendments - to be reviewed/amended
3. Laws currently in use but with major amendments/cases where the original intention may have become obscurred - to be reviewed/amended
4. Laws currently in use that are fully fit for purpose and are being implemented as was intended - to be validated

The process of review to be open published allowing the electorate full
opportunity of scrutiny and comment during all stages of the review.

'alf a shillings worth and I'm done.

Just to reiterate that the post is just my personal take on the balance of posts and comments on them with a few new things that occured to me thrown in while typing it.

All of the above is up for debate or general chat. If you think I have missed something important or included something too frivolous just let us know, fight your corner and get it changed.

I hope to end with something very condensed and fundamental without too much detail as a kind of a basic roadmap towards how we can advise our politicians to change their approach before the next election. It will probably be worth sending it to all the major parties and news organisations once we are 'happy' with it.

What have we got to lose?

Is that not why we started this thing back in February.
